Living in the Pacific Northwest means being surrounded by incredible places to explore and photograph. While I love documenting weddings at incredible venues, I also love photographing epic elopements and adventure sessions that showcase these beautiful, often off-grid locations.
There is something so special about hiking into the mountains where the light turns the tops of the mountains pink and watching the light change together. I love documenting people enjoying these natural spaces together, as part of the scene.
Maybe you love to backpack together, and lay under the stars after a long day of hiking and awaiting a beautiful sunrise ceremony overlooking the North Cascades. Maybe it’s time spent in the forest, with the sounds of chirping birds and the silence that only getting truly out on a trail can provide. Maybe it’s kayaking through the Salish Sea to your favorite campground, and eloping at sunset in the San Juan Islands. Maybe you can’t wait to have a big wedding with all your family and friends there, but you also love the idea of taking photos, hiking, just the two of you. It is okay to want both, and there are ways to give you the experiences of both an intimate, adventurous elopement in the mountains and a big party with all your friends and family.
Maybe, you are not planning a wedding or already had one, but would love to have photos of you interacting with your favorite places with your partner and family. Whichever “maybe” applies to you, it sounds like an adventure sessions should be a part of your future.

C&A felt strongly connected to the North Cascades, and especially nervous about the idea of a larger wedding. Because of their children, they felt it was important to honor the ceremony of bringing their families together, but also wanted to spend time together doing something they love. Backpacking into the North Cascades before their wedding was the perfect compromise. They didn’t want to dress up, but just wanted more candid photos of them, and the mountains scenes around them.

These two got married in Eastern Washington, but spent a whole day exploring the Olympic Peninsula with me. True to form, the day was mostly misty and rainy, but was absolutely stunning. These two laughed their way through the rain as we explored the mountains, waterfalls, and headed at the ocean in the pouring rain.

A lot of these folks decided that while they felt the larger wedding was the best option to include the people they wanted to be there, they also wanted the time to adventure together and be documented experiencing places they love together.

These two got married surrounded by their family in the gardens at Roche Harbor Resort, but wanted photos that showcased other beautiful areas in Washington…and the opportunity to look like movie stars while adventuring around.

These two met me for a adventure session along the Oregon Coast. We had a fantastic time exploring the coastline with them and their two pups. Most of it was spent walking and talking, with occasional guided moments like this when it felt natural and connected to the landscape around them.

These two decided on their engagement photos being taken near Mt. Rainier, since they both love mountain climbing and have summited Mt. Rainier together. While their wedding will be in a more accessible location, they needed some time in the mountains together.
